It happened one day when we were given a small bag of green unroasted coffee beans. The beans sat for a while. Then one day, Michael decided he would try his hand at coffee roasting, just to see. He roasted an Indonesian Sumtra to a Medium Dark Roast with our Back to Basics popcorn maker. We weren’t sure how it would turn out. But the beans looked good after roasting. The grind looked nice. The waft of the coffee filled the room and at first sip, we realized that freshly roasted coffee gives you more aromas and flavors than the ones at the store that have been sitting who knows how long. And from there the idea started to brew into what it is today.
